UNESDA presents latest independent monitoring to EU platform
29 NOVEMBER 2011; UNESDA presented the latest monitoring of its commitments to the EU Platform for Action on Diet, Physical Activity and Health this week. The association demonstrated high levels of compliance across all markets.
The third party monitoring, undertaken by independent auditors PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Xtreme Information, audited the commitments made by the European non-alcoholic beverages association back in 2006. They include the commitment to not advertise to children under 12 on TV, print or online, to not offer its products for sale in primary schools and in secondary schools, where beverages are sold, to offer a full range of drinks including water and juice and no and low sugar, and to sell them in unbranded vending machines.
UNESDA also monitored its 2010 commitment to behave responsibly in the digisphere – not advertising on sites aimed at children under 12 and not placing content on its own, company owned websites which would appeal to under 12s http://www.unesda.org/independent-auditing-unesda-commitments
